About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Platform Solution Architect to support the design, governance, and delivery of enterprise and mission critical ICT platforms within a secure Defence environment.

This role will provide strategic and technical leadership across infrastructure, cloud, networking, and security domains, ensuring solutions are resilient, scalable, and aligned with operational and regulatory requirements.

You will act as a key technical authority, working closely with stakeholders, engineering teams, and delivery partners to translate business and operational requirements into robust, secure platform solutions across the full system lifecycle.

Required Security Clearance

Australian Citizenship and an active NV1 Security Clearance (mandatory)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of complex platforms across infrastructure, cloud, networking, and security domains
• Translate business and operational requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions
• Act as the technical authority and own architectural decisions across platform environments
• Ensure security by design principles including zero trust, segmentation, and system hardening
• Drive integration and interoperability across multiple systems, vendors, and technology stacks
• Support governance activities including design reviews, technical assurance, and change control processes
• Identify risks, dependencies, and constraints, and implement mitigation strategies
• Oversee full lifecycle delivery from concept and design through to sustainment and decommissioning
• Mentor engineers and contribute to capability uplift across architecture and engineering teams
• Produce and maintain high quality architectural documentation and artefacts

Required Skills & Experience

• 5 to 10+ years’ experience in solution architecture, systems engineering, or complex ICT environments
• Strong experience across cloud, infrastructure, networking, and security domains
• Proven experience designing end to end platforms across the full delivery lifecycle
• Experience working in regulated or mission critical environments such as Defence or C4I
• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to work across technical and non technical teams
• Experience with architecture governance, system integration, and technical assurance processes

Bonus Skills (Highly Regarded)

• Experience within Defence capability development programmes
• Exposure to multi cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Professional certifications across architecture, cloud, security, or networking (e.g. CISSP, CCNP)
• Experience working across complex, multi vendor environments
• Chartered Engineer or advanced academic qualifications
